Growing up in Maryland, Court began to develop a fondness for the Thoroughbred industry. He attended the University of Kentucky where he graduated with a degree in Equine Science. After graduating, Court worked at Three Chimneys Farm as a stallion handler for such notable horses as Dynaformer, Exchange Rate, and Wild Again. Later, Court worked as a veterinarian technician and practice manager at Equine Health Care, P.S.C. From there, he moved on to become a broodmare manger at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms where he gained invaluable experience from some of the top veterinarians and farriers. After six years at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms, Court took the chance to start his own farm. Southside Farm provided such services as breeding, foaling, sales prep, as well as breaking and training. After the birth of their first child, Court decided to retire from the thoroughbred industry. Together with Helen, they decided to focus on boarding sport horses, which finally brought them to Aiken and lead to the creation of Twin Silos Equestrian Center.
Helen grew up in Duluth, MN. She started her journey with horses at the age of five and her passion grew with each passing year. At the age of 18, Helen moved to Chicago, IL as a working student at KYB dressage. There she logged many hours in the saddle. Helen gained experience working horses of all ages and at all levels (from Training to Grand Prix) under saddle as well as on the ground. She was exposed to many different types of training. Over the years Helen has been able to work with several trainers such as Kim Barteau, Bo Jena, Kathy Morelli, Ulf Wadeborn, Albrecht Heidemman, Dan James and several others. Her main focus is on Dressage, but her goal is to create a solid foundation for every horse and rider. In 2018 Helen branched off on her own. The basis of the program is that basics are the most important part of a training curriculum. True horsemanship is what matters. Helen wants to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience with their equine partners. In the end the main goal should always be a program that works best for you and your horse.
